Episode shownotes
Otto Behrend from the EV Clinic Berlin in auto motor und sport's New Mobility Podcast
For Otto Behrend, head of the EV Clinic in Berlin, the faults that occur in 10-year-old electric cars are forgivable - and not because he earns his money by repairing them. The young entrepreneur was already involved in the development of electric cars, their drives and electronic components during his studies, training and doctorate. All in all, most of the vehicles are very robust, with only a few weak points here and there from model to model, as with all other cars with other drive systems, explains the trained mechatronics engineer in the podcast. In this episode, we discuss why he and his co-founders have given up their jobs in science - but have not completely given up research, which components in electric cars need to be replaced most frequently and how reliable the manufacturers' battery warranties are.
